Uninterruptible power supply features, uninterrupted power supply operating principle

What is an uninterruptible power supply
An uninterruptible power supply (UPS) is an equipment that provides backup AC power to electrical load devices and maintains the normal operation of electrical appliances without interruptions in case of grid abnormalities (such as power outages, undervoltage, interference, or surges, also known as surge currents).

Uninterruptible power supply features
1. Green, Energy Saving, and Environmental Protection: In the face of intensified changes in the global energy landscape, fierce international oil prices, and tight global energy supply, energy conservation and environmental protection have become the guiding principles for UPS manufacturers to carry out product technological innovations. For UPS, the input power factor indicates its ability to absorb the active power of the grid and the degree of impact on the grid. Reducing the input harmonics of the power supply will not only improve the load characteristics of the UPS on the grid, but also reduce the serious pollution caused to the grid and reduce the harmonic interference to other network equipment. Many UPS manufacturers have already introduced products with a power factor close to 1, which minimizes reactive power consumption.
2. High-frequency: Compared with the traditional industrial frequency UPS, the high-frequency UPS adopts power factor correction and high-frequency soft-switching technology, which eliminates the power-frequency power conversion link, and therefore operates with higher efficiency and harmonic pollution to the power grid. Reactive power consumption is minimal, and it can fully meet the requirements of the relevant power industry at home and abroad. In addition, the high-frequency power conversion device has a significant effect in reducing the volume and weight of magnetic components, reducing manufacturing costs, curbing operational noise, and saving energy and environmental protection, and is thus increasingly recognized by users.
3. High-powered and modularized: As the IT industry develops rapidly, the data volume of the data center is also growing at an explosive rate, with consequent increase in power consumption. UPS on the one hand toward the direction of greater power development, on the other hand in order to deal with the needs of uninterrupted power supply capacity expansion in phases, product modularization is an irresistible trend. More personalized user requirements, larger data center scale, and higher maintenance costs make UPS no longer a purely uninterrupted power supply device. A complete set of power supply and management solutions for different industries will be favored by the market. .

How Uninterruptible Power Supply Works
When the mains power is normal 380Vac, the DC main circuit has a DC voltage, which is supplied to the DC-AC AC inverter and outputs a stable AC voltage of 220V or 380Vac. At the same time, the mains power is rectified to charge the battery when the utility power is under voltage or In the event of a sudden power failure, the battery pack supplies power to the DC circuit through the isolating diode switch. There is no switching time from the power supply to the battery. When the battery power is about to be exhausted, the uninterruptible power supply emits an audible and visual alarm, and stops the inverter at the lower limit point of the battery discharge.
The uninterruptible power supply also has an overload protection function. When an overload occurs (150% load), it jumps to the bypass state and returns automatically when the load is normal. When a severe overload (more than 200% of rated load) occurs, the UPS immediately stops the inverter output and jumps to the bypass state, at which point the front input air switch may also trip. After eliminating the fault, just switch on the switch and start the work again when the power is turned on again.
